The American Heart Association BLS Renewal class is for currently certified AHA BLS Providers needing to renew their BLS certification.

Eligibility: To be eligible to participate in a review course, participants must possess a current (not expired) BLS Provider card from the American Heart Association.

The American Heart Association HeartCode BLS is a blended learning course that combines an online eLearning course (sold separately) followed by a hands-on skill session with an instructor.

This course has 2 parts:

Part 1 – Online Course – up to 2 hours

This class meets OSHA/workplace requirements and meets the CPR requirement for the California Teaching Credential and diverse job requirements for pediatric health and safety training.

The Heartsaver First Aid Online course is taught in a blended learning format. Students must complete the online portion, followed by the hands-on skills session (sold separately) conducted by an American Heart Association Training Center instructor. Student who successfully complete the online course and skills session, will receive a Heartsaver First Aid Course Completion card, valid for two years. 

Who should take this course?

The AHA’s Heartsaver courses are designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs first aid and/or CPR training and a course completion card for job, regulatory (e.g., OSHA), or other requirements. Heartsaver courses can also be taken by anyone who wants to be prepared to act in an emergency.

Hands-on Skills Session (Sold Separately)

This training program is designed specifically for the occupational first aid provider. This extremely flexible program will help employees meet OSHA and other Federal and State regulatory requirements for training to respond and care for medical emergencies at work.

Note: Students must successfully complete both the online lessons and the hands-on skills session with an Instructor to obtain certification.

This course covers specific topics, knowledge, and skills required for Licence Childcare Providers required to learn how to prevent and respond to medical emergencies involving infants, children, and adults.
 
Medic First is approved by the Health & Safety Institute (HSI) to teach the MEDIC First Aid PediatricPlus training program. HSI's MEDIC First Aid PediatricPlus training program is approved statewide by the California EMS Authority (EMSA) and fulfills California training requirements for childcare providers (22 CA ADC §100000.17)."

Childcare providers completing this course will have the EMSA stickers placed directly on their certification cards.
 
Completion Time: 8 hours
 
Who should take this course? If you work in childcare, this is the right class for you. If you are not a childcare professional, the best class for you would be a standard CPR AED and First Aid Class.

The courses in this program teach participants the knowledge and skills needed to give immediate care to an injured or ill person and decide whether advanced medical care is needed. The program offers Adult First Aid, CPR and AED courses to meet the various training needs of a diverse audience.

A person may take the courses to fulfill employment requirements or they may be taking courses to provide for the safety and well-being of their friends, family and community or for personal satisfaction.

Child Care Providers will cover CA EMSA Asthma Training

This American Red Cross class meets the requirements for the CPR and First Aid portion of California Title 22 and EMSA for Childcare Providers.

A person may take the courses to fulfill employment requirements that satisfies OSHA workplace or other regulatory requirements or they may be taking courses to provide for the safety and well-being of their friends, family and community or for personal satisfaction.

This American Red Cross class meets the requirements for the CPR and First Aid portion of California Title 22 and EMSA for Childcare Providers.
